Scrapyard Bombardiers

When Dublin Bus decided to withdraw the Bombardiers and GACs from service, the vast majority of them were sold
to a scrapyard in County Louth.

I paid the yard a visit during 2002 and took a few snaps before the main demolition began...

Among the sea of Bombardiers, if you look a little left of centre in the distance, you can make out the rear end of a VanHool Atlantean, recognisable by the elongated rear route scroll-box / registration number area.
The advert on the rear of the KC to the right is very apt!

KD59 is currently (2005) undergoing restoration to be preserved by the National Transport Museum.
