On Sunday 30 September 2007, Dublin Bus introduced a number of marked service improvements for the areas of Ballyboden, Ballycullen, Knocklyon and Whitechurch in South Dublin. This involved a significant increase in departures on Route 15 between the City Centre and Scholarstown, an extension of Route 15B from Ballyroan to Whitechurch - and additions to Routes 74 and 74A to Stocking Avenue near Ballycullen.
Above, AX599 on 30 September 2007, about to perform the first 15B from Whitechurch. Up to the previous day, this area was served by the infrequent 15C. This route has now been cancelled and replaced by an extended 15B from nearby Ballyroan giving Whitechurch an effective doubling of service to the city centre.
Above, AV9 and AV10 performed the first Sunday departures (1000 and 1030 respectively) of Routes 74 and 74A from Stocking Avenue on a new seven-day schedule. Given the amount of so-far undeveloped land in the area, it looks likely these routes will be further strengthened in the coming years.
The Dublin Bus depot at Ringsend is the main garage providing these service improvements.
