AX509 (Dublin Bus) on the first departure of Route 140
Harristown-based AX509 was the first bus to operate Route 140 on 10 February 2008.
The first stop (pictured above) is located at Hampton Wood on St.Margaret's Road in northern Finglas. From here, the route turns onto Jamestown Road, then right towards Charlestown Shopping Centre. At these crossroads, the route turns left, back onto St.Margaret's Road passing by the existing terminus for Routes 40A and 40C and out onto the Finglas Bypass.
From here, it's straight into the city through Phibsboro, Parnell Square, O'Connell Street and Nassau Street to terminate just off Leeson Street at Wilton Terrace (pictured below).
