Alexander-bodied Dennis Trident on evaluation in Dublin, 1999
This Dennis Trident with Alexander ALX-400 coachwork (registration number 99 D 41) was pictured (top) at Abbey Road, Dun Laoghaire and again (above) along Dun Laoghaire's George's Street during November 1999 on evaluation for Dublin Bus.
This was part of a trial of low-floor accessible large capacity vehicles to enable the company to honour a commitment that all buses purchased from 2000 were so equipped.
In the end, Dublin Bus decided to opt for the Volvo B7TL chassis (AV class), however the Dennis Trident eventually made a full-time appearance with the purchase of 10 such buses - the DT class - in 2003.
